"Tax dollars should not be wasted on art, music or theater classes in high school. Public high schools should be about training young people to enter the workforce. Period."
I do not agree with this statement at all because art, music, and theater influence creativity, which can be used a helpful skill in the workplace.When high schools provide these art classes, it gives students the opportunity to increase their creativity. By teaching students how to use their creativity, students could later use that skill in the workplace. There are several different skills required to be successful in the workforce, not just math or science. If people really want students to be prepared for the workforce then students should be allowed to take core classes as well as art classes. Besides, schools spend so much money on preparing students for standardized testing that doesn't help people enter the work force, so why cut funding for the arts that do help.
